Introduction to our Foundation Stage Curriculum

Introduction to the Foundation Stage Curriculum
In Foundation Stage 2 (Reception) we plan from the children's interests and provide our children with creative provision to ensure they develop the necessary skills across all areas of development to achieve to exceed the  Early Learning Goals.
Topics usually last for a week or two and reflect the children's interests. Favourite themes have included dinosaurs, pirates, super heroes, dragons and castles. Some topics are based on favourite stories, such as 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' or 'Bog Baby' or an author such as Eric Carle. Our aim is to provide experiences which are imaginative, challenging and fun! We encourage each child to develop their confidence, independence and investigative skills outlined in the Characteristics of Effective Learning.
Our stimulating environment provide excellent opportunities for learning in our continuous provision indoors and outdoors!
