EQUALITY POLICY

St Andrew’s school is founded on the Christian value that all are loved and equal in the sight of
God. As a matter of Christian principle and in accordance with our foundation, we will:

  • respect the equal human rights of all our pupils;
  • educate them about equality;
  • respect the equal rights of our staff and other members of the school
    community.

We are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all pupils, staff, parents
and carers receiving services from the school, irrespective of race, gender, disability, religion or
belief, or socio-economic background or any protected characteristic. We aim to create a culture
of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity
and able to participate fully in school life.

The achievement of pupils will be monitored by race, gender, socio – economic background and
disability and we will use this data to support pupils, raise standards and ensure inclusive
teaching. We will tackle discrimination by the positive promotion of equality, challenging bullying
and stereotypes and creating an environment which champions respect for all.

The school has in place a Race Equality Policy, a Special Educational Needs policy and a
Disability statement that give further details of these particular areas. These are available on
